Welcome To China Grove

China Grove is located twelve miles east of San Antonio and fourteen miles west of La Vernia on Highway 87 in Bexar county. The city encompasses about four square miles and the population, according to the 2000 census, is 1247. China Grove is a Type A general Law City with an aldermanic form of government. China Grove is located in the East Central School District.

CPS Energy is the electric and gas utility provider for China Grove and San Antonio Water System is the water provider. Currently there is no public sewer system. China Grove contracts with the China Grove Fire & Rescue Volunteer Fire Department for fire protection service. Contact City Hall for building and zoning requirements.
